SWAT is correct. The trick is better know as "the infinite chocolate trick". A quick search will give a detailed video of exactly how it's done. The volume is lost along the diagonal bisection. In may seem counterintuitive, but it is correct. |

| @SWAT - you're a fucking retard. Lost volume? Really Fucking mass just up and diss-appeared? You flunked algebra, trig, physics not your strong suit? Pay the fuck attention. |

| azulejos-trick - complete bullshit with switching the pieces 36 seconds into the game. The fucking pieces at the start make 63 nice little squares, at 37 seconds and thereafter when he assembles the rectangle outside the box - the squares are fucked up. The don't make little square boxes. So if you're a retard - you might not catch this. |

That last one isn't all that difficult to work out. The pieces are cut in such a way that when one square is removed, the lost volume is distributed across the entire width of the block, so in essence it only gets shorter each time by one seventh of the thickness of one square. This would also allow it to seem to "fit" back in to the frame, as the height difference is pretty small and wouldn't really show.
In essence, the middle row of the whole block gets a little thinner each time, but so gradually that the eye can't really see the difference. |
