What alarms me is the number of women whoring for cash on the Internet. The important factor is it's society (and not men) pushing women to do this. Many do it on their own, in part, it seems, as a social-sexual reactionary measure to the current wave of feminism. The sentiment is: "We can do what we want with our bodies, including using our bodies to make money." I'm not saying these women are wrong, but what they miss is the immense toll, mentally, physically, and in terms of how one views the world.
Even more reflective is many of these women do not come from disenfranchised backgrounds. Rather, these women reason that porn yields better and faster monetary return than traditional education and traditional careers. In a world where only money matters, the pressure to obtain and continue obtaining money is immense. So, these women invoke "female privilege" because they reason this is one of the only ways to keep up with an increasingly more expensive world. |

Amy Reid and August Ames are great examples of women who were seemingly healthy and looked amazing when they entered the porn industry and who (both) went downhill very, very quickly. August Ames had well published problems with depression and it seemed she had problems with self esteem, too. I'm not sure about Amy Reid. Ames famously and tragically committed suicide, ostensibly over a silly Twitter discussion. As far as I know, Amy Reid retired from porn, thankfully; I hope she got her health and life back. Both girls started showing early signs they could not handle the porn industry. Fast lifestyle, temporary and synthetic adoration, plastic surgery, and many other factors really took their toll on these two women and it showed, physically and mentally.

The majority of girls get into the porn business with out a plan thinking it's easy money, most flame out quick and leave. The afore mention girls buy into the "Porn Star" lifestyle and get used up. Then there are the rare few career minded that have a plan and transition to the production side. Even more rare are girls like Traci Lords and Sasha Grey that use porn to secure their financial future and pursue their true passions.

yeah, this seems to be happening to almost all girls in porn. I mean just remember how Amy Reid looked in her early days. Like a fucking innocent angel...and later like a vamp. Same goes for August Ames...really sad that they get into plastic surgery. But I think it just shows the mental toll these girls have to pay for doing porn :<

Kendra Sunderland has officially hit the wall. If she stayed in college and lived a normal life she would have been a hot MILF with a great family. Instead, she’s aged prematurely and is just about used up. Sad how the porn machine chews these young women up and spits them out.
