Oops. I missed Alaska! So the breakdown of votes still up for grab is:
Alaska: (3 electoral college votes)
Georgia: (16 electoral college votes)
Nevada: (6 electoral college votes)
North Carolina: (15 electoral college votes)
Pennsylvania: (20 electoral college votes)
My prediction. Trump will take Alaska, Georgia, North Carolina, and Pennsylvania - he's reasonably ahead in all of these states. He'll lose Nevada and end up two votes short of victory. (The race in Nevada is close, but Biden is ahead and most of the votes are already counted.) Biden will become the next American president. Yes, as I noted before, it's still possible for Trump to win, but it's unlikely. |

Re the American election. Vote counting continues and though it looks like Biden may win, it's still possible for Trump to win. It's not over until it's over! For Trump to win, he'll need all remaining, undetermined states, including:
Nevada: (6 electoral college votes)
Georgia: (16 electoral college votes)
North Carolina: (15 electoral college votes)
Pennsylvania: (20 electoral college votes)
Trump currently has 214 electoral college votes. If he takes what's left, he'll have 271 votes, just one vote over what he needs to declare victory. It's going to be a very, very close race. And if Biden wins, which could very well be the case because mail-in votes seem to be predominantly Democrats, it's going to be a mess, because Trump will want recounts. So yeah, while this works itself out, I don't think we'll have a definitive answer for a month or more. |
