I agree with you! However, website owners want to attract and drive traffic to their sites. One way to do this is with gambits that bring people back again and again, sometimes daily or more frequently. I'm guessing this is why Phun allows multiple votes in TOTW. |

but who cares if the vote number is low? I’d rather see what it really represents instead of some skewed voters’ efforts to stuff the ballot.
I’m afraid I just don’t understand your logic. I’ve been coming on here for more than 10 years and rarely voted more than once; either because I had forgotten or because a particular ass deserved it in my mind. |

We've had multiple votes on Phun for many years. If we took away the multiple vote, then the current Thong of The Week count would plummet drastically.
You do have a valid point. It would be more accurate to let people vote once and only once, but that would require an authentication system. And, it would discourage people from coming back again and again, throughout the week, to participate on the site. |

| Once again I'm here at Thong of The Week, and I want to cast a vote, but the system tells me "You have already voted!" I can come back many, many hours later, and the system still won't let me vote. It seems that whatever timeout is set, this timeout is much too long. As set currently, I'm able to cast (maybe) two votes per day. In the past, I was able to cast many more votes daily and I'm sure this must be true for other users too. So, if you want to know why the total votes remain low, this is one reason. I'd like to vote more often, but the system prevents me from doing so. |
